Scandinavian For Menswear The Masters Of Minimalism

The reduced and simplified aesthetics, represented by Denmark, Sweden and Norway, has firmly placed Northern Europe on the fashion map. Timeless, portable and versatile, this characteristic Minimalism has become a global movement, imperturbable by ephemeral trends and unshakable in its style.

At the heart of the success is a selection of painfully cool Scandi labels and designers who have helped to export the brand’s Look from the region and transform it into what it is today. From the avant-garde styles of the Acne Studios in Stockholm to the Minimalism slightly tinged with Streetwear from the Norse projects in Copenhagen and Wood Wood, these are the Scandinavian labels that should be on the Radar of every stylish man and the reasons why they are the best at what they do.

A Day Of Walking

A Day’s March is a relatively new label that excludes wholesalers and sells its products directly to you, the consumer. In this way, the brand is able to offer its refined Scandi-Essentials at reduced prices without giving up quality. Be sure to check out the textured shirts, tracksuits and light jackets-perfect for layers during the colder months.

Wood Wood

Take the bold logos, eye-catching prints and urban aesthetics of Streetwear and mix them with the clear Minimalism that Scandinavia is famous for. What you have left will probably look a lot like Wood Wood, a contemporary fashion and lifestyle brand based in Copenhagen that has placed its city on the menswear map since 2002.

Wood Wood offers a good starting point for those who maybe like heavy Streetwear styles, but don’t want to look like a teenager. The designs are playful but mature, and there is a common theme of collaboration to keep things up to date. Previous contacts include Nike, Champion, New Balance and Clarks.

Our Heritage

At first glance, the Swedish brand Our Legacy seems to be a typical supplier of the proven Scandinavian minimalist aesthetics. However, once you’ve left the ultra-pure basics and cutting-edge contemporary tailoring, you’ll see what it’s really all about with this Trojan horse Of a brand.

Psychedelic prints, slanted and wonderful fabrics, fluid silhouettes and vibrant cuts. Our heritage adds personality and a touch of the unexpected to the Standard minimalist Look with painting by numbers. The result is a collection of clothes that scream loudly and at the same time barely give a whisper.

Nordic Projects

If you were forced to wear one brand and only one brand for the rest of your life, there would be much worse choices than the Nordic projects in Copenhagen. The Danish label is an ardent defender of simple and well-made things. Think heavy pierced cotton chinos or a shiny white t-shirt that sits so well it could make a grown man cry.

There is something for everyone and you can dress it up as you wish. Norse’s range is so varied that it is possible to go from a sober Streetwear to a corduroy geography teacher (although very well dressed) who only uses clothes from a single seasonal collection.

Model: NN07

As the “NN” in NN07 means “no nationality”, we feel a little bad when we reveal that the Label actually comes from Denmark. Even if we hadn’t mentioned it, you probably would have discovered it anyway by just looking at the extremely clean cuts and the masterfully simple style of the clothes.

NN07 has been doing its thing since 2007 and has gained a reputation as a must-have label for high-quality basics and superior cuts. The brand’s casual shirt is particularly noteworthy. Expect thick and comfortable Flannel, crisp Oxford buttons and really durable tracksuits.

Acne Studios

Originally founded as a small advertising and design agency, Acne Studios has become Sweden’s most well-known fashion house. Known for the intersection between culture, art and Fashion, Acne Studios has gained legions of loyal followers around the world with its experimental Variant of the Scandinavian style.

When it’s not exactly about pushing the boundaries of design, Acne Studios maintains its exceptional reputation as a Scandinavian Denim brand. In addition to its more avant-garde pieces, the brand has long been known for its high-end Jeans. Look for narrow cuts and straight leg cuts to get an idea of what Acne Denim is all about.

The Swedish brand Tretorn was founded in 1891 and is one of the oldest Scandi style names. After starting life as a tire manufacturer, Tretorn expanded into other rubber applications. That is, shoes with rubber soles, including galoshes, rubber boots and the crisp white tennis shoes for which the brand is now famous. Tretorn tennis shoes have been worn by some of the biggest names in the game, but they are not only ideal for the court. These simple sneakers are as versatile as possible, making them the perfect addition to any shoe rack.
